Back-Of-The-Hand Adapted Paddle Grip
Best suited for those who have some hand function or strong wrist flexors and can grip the paddle shaft but need a bit more support. Most individuals with C6 SCI who have no finger use but good grip when wrist is in flexion can use this hand grip. The grip adjusts to a wide variety of hand sizes and is padded under the handle to provide a secure fit without causing skin breakdown or bruising.
Wrist Adaptation Grip
For those who are not able to grasp the paddle at all or who have too weak of wrists to support the weight of the paddle for very long. No finger or wrist use needed. The padded wrist band is securely fitted by pulling on the strap (loop on end of strap to be tugged on with one finger, thumb or mouth). The wrist band then slides into an attachment that is mounted onto the paddle. The design is made to release easily from paddle by a simple slide motion. Flipping the buckle loosens the strap. This grip allows for complete control of the paddle without having any grip strength.
Propel Adapted Grip
Allows those who have only one arm to paddle using a standard kayak paddle. It uses a cuff near the elbow that slides into a receptacle on the paddle and a perpendicular grip for the hand to grasp. This allows control of the paddle for strokes on both sides of the kayak. Available in either right or left handed mounts.
