Put on by the NWTF’s Wheelin’ Sportsmen every spring in mid-April, this hunt is a little different from all the rest. Twenty-eight lucky Wheelin’ Sportsmen members from across the country will come together for a weekend turkey hunt at one of the Southeast’s most pristine turkey hunting locales. Savannah River Site (SRS), owned by the United States Department of Energy, is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the Southeast. It’s 198,000 acres of prime turkey habitat.
They are looking for participants who are active within the Wheelin’ program and would be able to use this hunt as a learning experience to go back and start similar events in their hometowns. There are a limited number of spots available for the hunt. Please send in the application as soon as possible, but no later than March 2. Hunters must be U.S. citizens, minimum of 16 years old and have a qualifying disability.
Hunters will be selected by random drawing. Selected hunters will be announced and notified in writing no later than March 11.
