The Beaver Creek Rendezvous is the brainchild of Leonard Livingson and is located at his LA Ranch approximately a mile north of Ekalaka, MT. Livingston was involved in a similar project in Wyoming before moving to Ekalaka, and has spent several years putting the Rendezvous together in Carter County. He bought his grandfather’s farm/ranch and started a disabled hunter’s camp. The Beaver Creek Rendezvous, on his own operation and on land of some of his neighbors, provides hunters access to nearly 100,000 acres. The access is reserved for the handicapped hunters and companions for the first three days of hunting season.
Livingston constructed a 40×28′ building which sleeps at least 12 and has handicapped accessible bathrooms and a kithcen and everything hunters need.
Livingston was able to utilize some specialized equipment to help some of the hunters. Since many use wheelchairs, a hydraulically operated stand that raised two hunters some 16 feet, proved useful. The stand was provided by the Budweiser company and Disabled American Veterans for use by disabled hunters in Montana.
